First tractor powered by biomethane

New Holland and Snam4Mobility introduce first tractor powered by biomethane.

On the occasion of EIMA International 2021, an Italian exhibition dedicated to agricultural mechanisation, New Holland and Snam4Mobility, presented the world's first tractor powered by 100% natural gas and biomethane. Thanks to the agreement with Cubogas and CNH Capital Industrial, the tractor is offered with a "turnkey" solution that also includes the Cubogas Fuel Maker Big Q compressor refuelling system, which can be installed on the farm for 24/7 refuelling in total autonomy. The T6.180 Methane Power is also New Holland's nominee for Tractor of the Year 2022.

"We are delighted to be working with New Holland to offer the agricultural sector a sustainable and competitive technological solution," comments Daniele Lucà, Senior Vice President Mobility Solutions & Services at Snam4Mobility. "Biomethane, which already accounts for about a third of the gas used for transport in Italy, is a precious resource because it allows us to recover organic waste and waste from the agricultural and agri-food industry, transforming it into renewable energy, with a complete model of circular economy. By leveraging the Cubogas range of Fuel Maker compressors and promoting synergies with leading players like New Holland, we aim to make biomobility a winning card for the decarbonisation of agricultural vehicles".
