Open Grid Europe, headquartered in Essen, is one of the largest pipeline network operators in Germany with a network of around 12,000 kilometers. Two thirds of the natural gas consumed in Germany flows through our pipeline network with around 100 compressor units and around 1100 exit points. 1,450 employees throughout Germany ensure safe, environmentally friendly and customer-oriented gas transport. In addition, we offer the associated technical and commercial services and provide commercial, technical and IT services for third parties. We actively support the European gas market and, together with European distribution grid operators, create the conditions for cross-border gas transport and trading. We expressly support the sustainable development of the energy transformation. We are convinced that gas and its infrastructures have great climate protection potential and will therefore play a decisive role in the future energy system.
